Sole Fitness Elliptical Trainer Reviews

Sole Fitness elliptical trainers provide a more affordable home fitness experience than most of the ellipticals from Precor, but are still designed with a high overall build quality that’s earned them thousands of positive reviews online.

The power adjustable stride length varies between 20″ and 22″ on each machine, with a backlit LCD console used to clearly display all of your most important workout information.

But in order to provide the optimum workout experience for this price range, Sole have favored the quality of the elliptical motion and intensity of the workout programs over entertainment options and variation.

Workout programs
With each elliptical you’re able to choose from one of ten programs (six for the E25), six of which follow preset resistance and incline profiles, with two that are heart rate controlled, and two that you can create yourself (custom programs).

Although you can still enjoy listening to your favorite workout music via the integrated speakers and MP3 compatibility, you’re not going to see the same HDTV screen or Personal Viewing System (PVS) that you would on some top-of-the-line ellipticals from NordicTrack or Precor.

Warranty
In terms of warranty coverage, Sole are actually one of the best in the industry, which helps to provide an added level of confidence when buying one of their ellipticals.

The entry level E25 model does have a slightly shorter electronic and parts warranty (3 years), and one year’s less labor than on later models. But for the E35, E95, and E98 ellipticals that offer lifetime coverage on the frame, five years on parts, and two years on labor, you’ll struggle to find better at this price point.

This guide is designed as a summary of the features you can expect from a Sole Fitness elliptical. If you want to find out more about a particular model or see how they compare to other ellipticals in the same price range, it’s worth having a read through the reviews below.

Sole Fitness E25 Elliptical

Sole Fitness E25 Elliptical

Review rating: 3.5 star review rating
Despite being the entry level model in Sole’s elliptical collection, the E25 still includes many of the high quality features you can enjoy on one of the higher priced machines.

The 20″-22″ stride length is capable of supporting the full running stride of users over 6ft tall, while the workout programs offer a similar level of variation, even including two custom workouts that you can create yourself.

At 350 lbs the weight capacity is still impressive in comparison to similarly priced ellipticals from companies such as Yowza Fitness (300 lbs – 330 lbs), although the Yowza ellipticals can offer a longer warranty coverage and slightly steeper incline depending on the model.

Resistance and incline controls and conveniently built into the moving handles to limit the amount of time you need to spend at the console, with touch sensors built into the stationary handles for monitoring your heart rate without a chest strap.

In terms of the setup, you’re facing a few more steps than with some of the later NordicTrack models due to the lack of SNAP assembly. The non-folding design also means you’re looking at a larger footprint than their SpaceSaver ellipticals. But in our opinion this is no bad thing, as the heavy weight of most folding ellipticals makes the process impractical if it’s needed on a regular basis.

Sole Fitness E35 Elliptical

Sole Fitness E35 Elliptical

Review rating: 4 star review rating
An upgraded version of the entry level E25, the E35 elliptical features a higher weight capacity, more workout programs, and a heavier flywheel for a smoother running motion at all resistance levels.

As with other Sole elliptical trainers, the warranty is one of the best in the industry. You can enjoy lifetime coverage on the frame, 5 years on electronics and parts, and 2 years for labor, which places it at the same level as similarly priced machines from Yowza Fitness.

But although the console now features a larger 7.5″ display screen, we’re still not seeing the same level of entertainment options we’ve come to expect from modern ellipticals.

You do have the build in cooling fans, speakers, and MP3 connectivity for listening to your favorite music, but there’s no fitness app integration, historical workout tracking, or option to upload your results to an online profile.

  • Workout Apps: 10
  • Stride length: 20″-22″
  • Incline: 30%
  • Decline: No
  • Console: 7.5″ backlit LCD
  • Resistance levels: 15
  • Weight capacity: 375 lbs
  • Handle controls: Yes
  • Flywheel weight: 29 lbs
  • Heart rate monitoring: Yes

If you’re purely looking for a mid-range elliptical that provides an effective workout with good workout variation and aren’t too worried about entertainment options then the E35 is still an excellent machine. But there are several models at a similar price we would recommend taking a look at.

You can find out which models these are in our full review, where we also take a closer look at the workout programs, design features, and assembly process.
