Each Nature Made Biotin softgel provides you with 2,500 mcg of Biotin (d-biotin), which is an important nutrient for hair, nails, and skin. The capsules are yeast-free, gluten-free, and preservative-free, and are designed to support healthy carbohydrate, protein, and fat metabolism.
But if you want to see the full range of health benefits, how can you be sure that 2,500 mcg is a high enough dose? Most Biotin supplements have a potency of 5,000 mcg, with the bestselling Natrol Biotin supplement containing 10,000 mcg per serving.
In this review we compare the Nature Made product to two other top-rated biotin supplements; Sports Research 5,000 mcg, and Natrol Biotin 10,000 mcg. Comparisons include the ingredients, dosages, cost per serving, price, and customer feedback.
We’ve also added recommendations for the best multivitamin to combine with Nature Made Biotin. This is so you can maintain a healthy balance between your vitamin, mineral, Omega-3, antioxidant, and probiotic intake.
Nature Made Biotin Ingredients
One of the difficulties with biotin supplements is knowing which dosage to buy. At 2,500 mcg per serving, Nature Made offer one of the lowest concentrations of biotin, which can be a great start for assessing your tolerance.
However, this isn’t a great option for vegetarians and vegans due to the use of gelatin. Some biotin supplements use vegetable glycerin as an alternative, which would be a much better option.
If you’re vegetarian or vegan and want to start off with a low dose, we recommend the Solgar 1,000 mcg supplement. If you’ve already assessed your tolerance, you might want to try Sports Research Biotin 5,000 mcg, or even Natrol Biotin 10,000 mcg. None of these supplements contain gelatin or soybean oil.
Soybean oil is contained in Nature Made Biotin, and although it’s suitable for vegetarians, some studies claim it limits absorption of key minerals into the body.
This is due to soybean phytates, which are thought to bind to the zinc, calcium, iron, and magnesium in your body, blocking the uptake of these essential minerals.
The recommended serving size is just 1 softgel, making it a convenient option to take alongside any other supplements in the morning. Nature Made Biotin is gluten free and yeast free, but not soy free, and it isn’t suitable for vegetarians or vegans.

What sizes are available?
With a serving size of 1 softgel, each bottle provides you with 150 servings. Following the recommended daily dose of 1 serving, each bottle should last up to 150 days / 5 months.
At the time of writing this review, each serving was priced at $0.08. If you’re looking for a higher dose of Biotin for the same price, Natrol Biotin 10,000 mcg is your best option. You can even buy multi-pack deals to save more money, and bring the price down to $0.06 per serving.
We always recommend calculating the average cost per serving, across all sizes, before making a final buying decision.
Save money with Amazon
If you’re looking to save money on your monthly supplement order, you might want to consider the Amazon Subscribe & Save program.
Subscribe & Save allows you to unlock savings of up to 15% on a wide range of sports nutrition products, including NatureWise Maximum Care.
You can save 5% with a subscription to 1 product, or save the full 15% by subscribing to 5 products, provided they’re all delivered to the same address. The delivery schedule can be set from monthly, up to once every 6 months.
Although 5 products might sound a lot, if you already supplement with a protein powder, multivitamin, creatine, BCAA, and glutamine, the savings can soon add up. But it’s best to order before you run out of your current supplements, because Amazon set the day of the month each order is sent (same day each month e.g. 14th.).

Review Overview
Overall Review Rating
4 / 5
Nature Made have such a wide range of biotin supplements, it’s difficult to know where to start. Our review was based solely on their biotin softgels, available in 1,000 mcg, 2,500 mcg, and 5,000 mcg doses. But they also have a Hair, Skin, & Nails supplement, and biotin gummies, similar to the Vitafusion supplement.
Unfortunately they all contain gelatin. Nature Made don’t produce a single biotin supplement that’s suitable for vegetarians.
In terms of value for money, their softgels aren’t that expensive. Their maximum strength biotin (5,000 mcg) cost just 1 cent more per serving compared to Sports Research Biotin at the time of writing this review. However, the Sports Research supplement also contains organic beeswax, coconut oil, and is suitable for vegetarians.
Overall, we feel Nature Made biotin supplements are slightly more expensive than those from other companies. Even their biotin gummies were more expensive than the bestselling Vitafusion brand, despite providing the same 5,000 mcg dose. A good quality product, but too expensive, often contains soy, and unsuitable for vegetarians.
