Nature’s Bounty Biotin softgels contain 10,000 mcg of Biotin (d-biotin) per serving, to support cellular energy for healthier hair, skin, and nails. Each softgel is lactose-free, gluten-free, and wheat-free.
But how can you be sure that 10,000 mcg is a safe dose to start with? Almost all Biotin supplements deliver 5,000 mcg per serving, but Natrol and Nature’s Bounty both have products with 10,000 mcg per tablet/softgel.
In this review we compare the Nature’s Bounty product to two other top-rated biotin supplements; Omegaboost Biotin, and Natrol Biotin 10,000 mcg. Comparisons include the ingredients, dosages, cost per serving, price, and customer feedback from some of the thousands of highly rated reviews on Amazon.
We’ve also added recommendations for the best multivitamin to combine with Nature’s Bounty Biotin. This is so you can maintain a healthy balance between your vitamin, mineral, Omega-3, antioxidant, and probiotic intake.
Nature’s Bounty Biotin Ingredients
Each softgel contains 10,000 mcg of biotin, which is one of the highest doses per serving currently available as a supplement.
The fact that this is available as a single dose that only needs to be taken once per day makes it easier to combine with any existing supplement routine. For example, you can take 1 softgel at breakfast alongside an Omega-3 or multivitamin supplement. Just be aware that many multivitamins also contain biotin.
The downside with Nature’s Bounty Biotin is that it contains soybean oil. This isn’t uncommon among biotin supplements, but there are concerns about the high levels of phytic acid in soybeans.
Soybean phytates are thought to bind to the zinc, calcium, iron, and magnesium in your body, blocking the uptake of these essential minerals.
The impact on iron absorption has been noted in at least one scientific study. However, another study published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reported no significant difference between low and high phytate soybeans in the absorption of calcium.
Unfortunately large-scale clinical studies are still lacking, which is why we would always advise consulting your local health professional before making a final buying decision.
- Serving size: 1 softgel
- Servings per bottle: 120
- Main ingredient: Biotin (as d-Biotin) 10,000 mcg
- Secondary ingredients: Soybean oil, vegetable glycerin, yellow beeswax, titanium dioxide color
Suitable for vegetarians?
Another, more serious downside about the Nature’s Bounty softgels, is that they contain gelatin. Gelatin is a protein obtained from various animal body parts, including the skin, bones, and connective tissues.
That’s why, if you’re vegetarian, we recommend Sports Research Biotin 5,000 mcg. These are vegetarian softgels, containing no gluten, dairy, soy, or wheat.

What sizes are available?
With a serving size of 1 softgel, each bottle provides you with 120 servings. Following a recommended dose of 1 serving per day, this should last up to 120 days / 4 months. Multi-pack options are also available through Amazon, where you can buy more than 1 bottle at once.
However, at the time of writing this review, the best value for money comes from the single bottle of 120 softgels. Each serving was priced at $0.07, compared to $0.08 per serving for each of the multi-pack options.
That’s why we always recommend calculating the average cost per serving, across all sizes, before making a final buying decision.
Save money with Amazon
If you’re looking to save money on your monthly supplement order, you might want to consider the Amazon Subscribe & Save program.
Subscribe & Save allows you to unlock savings of up to 15% on a wide range of sports nutrition products, including NatureWise Maximum Care.
You can save 5% with a subscription to 1 product, or save the full 15% by subscribing to 5 products, provided they’re all delivered to the same address. The delivery schedule can be set from monthly, up to once every 6 months.
Although 5 products might sound a lot, if you already supplement with a protein powder, multivitamin, creatine, BCAA, and glutamine, the savings can soon add up. But it’s best to order before you run out of your current supplements, because Amazon set the day of the month each order is sent (same day each month e.g. 14th.).

Review Overview
Overall Review Rating
4.5 / 5
Nature’s Bounty Biotin is available in a range of doses, from 1,000 mcg up to a maximum strength 10,000 mcg. Unfortunately the highest dose is only available in softgel form, which contains soy and gelatin, making it unsuitable for vegetarians.
Nature’s Bounty does a much better job of catering for anyone that needs a 5,000 mcg dose of biotin. Not only can you buy the pure biotin in quick dissolve tablets instead of softgels, but they also have a Hair, Skin & Nails supplement, which combines biotin with vitamins and antioxidants.
In terms of value for money, we’ve found Nature’s Bounty to be very affordable. Their high strength 10,000 mcg softgels have been featured as Amazon’s Choice - a feature that highlights highly rated, well-priced products.
You’re also paying a similar price to Natrol’s bestselling biotin supplement ($0.07 - $0.08 per serving).
Overall, Nature’s Bounty Biotin is a high quality, affordable supplement, produced by a trusted company with decades of experience in the supplement industry. The only downside is there are relatively few options available for vegetarians. We would like to see more softgels manufactured with vegetable cellulose instead of gelatin.
Incidentally, The Nature's Bounty Co. - parent company of Nature’s Bounty, also owns the Solgar, MET-Rx, Body Fortress, and Pure Protein brands, amongst others.
