Each Spring Valley Biotin softgel provides you with 1,000 mcg of Biotin (d-biotin). The softgels are yeast-free, gluten-free, and wheat-free, and are designed to support a healthy energy metabolism, as well as healthy hair, skin, and nails.
But if you want to see the full range of health benefits, how can you be sure that 1,000 mcg is the right dose for you? The majority of Biotin supplements deliver 5,000 mcg, but the bestselling Natrol Biotin supplement uses 10,000 mcg per serving. Likewise, Nature Made and Nature’s Life have products with 2,500 mcg of Biotin per serving.
In this review we compare the Spring Valley product to two other top-rated biotin supplements; Sports Research 5,000 mcg, and Natrol Biotin 10,000 mcg. Comparisons include the ingredients, dosages, cost per serving, price, and customer feedback.
We’ve also added recommendations for the best multivitamin to combine with Spring Valley Biotin. This is so you can maintain a healthy balance between your vitamin, mineral, Omega-3, antioxidant, and probiotic intake.
Spring Valley Biotin Ingredients
If you’re just starting to include biotin in your supplement routine, it can be useful to assess your tolerance. This is often easiest if you start with 1,000 mcg and work your way up.
That’s why Spring Valley Biotin can be so useful. But due to the fact that their softgels contain soybean oil as well as gelatin, we can’t recommend them for vegetarians or vegans.
If you’re looking for a lower dose of pure biotin, your best option is the capsules from Solgar. Solgar Biotin provides you with the same 1,000 mcg per capsule, but with vegetable cellulose in place of gelatin. They’re also gluten free, soy free, wheat free, and contain no traces of nuts or coconut oil.
If you’re not vegetarian or vegan and aren’t worried about the soybean phytate content, the Spring Valley softgels are a slightly more affordable option (2 cents per capsule cheaper at time of review).
After assessing your tolerance with 1,000 mcg, you might want to step up to 5,000 mcg or even 10,000 mcg. Spring Valley and Solgar both have biotin supplements that can support this increase, but the Solgar version is the only one suitable for vegetarians.

What sizes are available?
With a serving size of 1 softgel, each bottle provides you with 150 servings. Following the recommended daily dose of 1 softgel, this is enough to last 150 days / 5 months.
At the time of writing this review, each serving was priced at $0.05. While this may sound like a cheap Biotin supplement, remember you’re only getting 1,000 mcg. In comparison, Natrol Biotin 10,000 mcg is usually available for $0.06 per serving if you take advantage of a multi-pack deal on Amazon.
That’s why we always recommend calculating the average cost per serving, across all sizes, before making a final buying decision.
Who are Spring Valley?
Spring Valley supplements are not to be confused with the products from Spring Valley Herbs. Spring Valley is actually a private label vitamin line from Walmart, similar to the Kirkland Signature label from Costco.
Their current supplement line contains multivitamins, fish oils, omega 3-6-9 fatty acids, and products designed to improve joint health and mobility. Some of their current bestsellers include Glucosamine Chondroitin, Tea Tree Oil, a Prenatal multivitamin, and Biotin 5000 mcg for skin, hair, and nail support.
Unfortunately, as with most private-label supplement companies, it’s difficult to find much information surrounding the sourcing and testing of the ingredients.
USA Home Gym gives in-depth insights into gym equipment, supplements, and fitness training methods. The motivation behind USA Home Gym is to provide you with information that goes beyond what you can find in any user manual, customer review, or other online review sites.
We go to great lengths to ensure that our reviews are completely comprehensive, usually covering everything from the design features to the warranty coverage and exercise options. This is all to help guide you towards the home gym equipment that’s best suited to your goals and budget, whilst also being the highest quality option in your chosen price range.
