Health benefits of Alanyl-l-glutamine
Alanyl-l-glutamine has been associated with a number of health benefits. One study even found it beneficial as a control for diabetes in liver transplanted patients.
Eighty patients over the age of 18 years old were split into two groups. Each group received an equal dose of amino acids, but only one group took 0.5 g/kg/d of alanyl-glutamine.
Hyperglycemic episodes were significantly less, rate of infection was lower, and ICU stay was shorter (7.81 days vs. 10.43 days) in the group that took alanyl-glutamine.

Whereas most glutamine supplements use a single ingredient (L-glutamine), MusclePharm have branched out with an original formula containing alanyl-l-glutamine. This is a combination of alanine and glutamine, where the alanine boosts cell hydration and electrolyte absorption.
Although the label doesn’t breakdown the exact dose of each strain, we’re impressed MusclePharm kept their glutamine powder at such an affordable price. At the time of our review, this was no more expensive than a 1 kg tub from Optimum Nutrition.
