Nutricost L-Glutamine powder has been designed to refuel your body with one of the most abundant non-essential amino acids in your body – glutamine.
As a pure glutamine supplement, Nutricost haven’t combined it with creatine, HMB, Nitric Oxide, or any other pre-workout/post-workout boosters. But how does this compare to other bestselling glutamine products in terms of effectiveness and value for money?
In this review we’ll take a closer look at how Nutricost L-Glutamine can assist with post-workout recovery and the biosynthesis of proteins, to help minimize muscle breakdown after intense exercise.
We’ll also compare a number of top rated glutamine supplements to make sure you get the best value for money. This includes dosages, frequency of use, sizes available (500g, 1kg, etc.), and a quick overview of the customer reviews on sites such as Amazon.
Nutricost L-Glutamine Ingredients
It’s no surprise that we featured Nutricost so highly in our list of top glutamine supplements. Their pure, high-quality L-glutamine powder is non-GMO, free of gluten, and represents excellent value for money.
Made in the USA at a GMP assured facility, each serving delivers 5 grams of L-glutamine, at a fraction of the cost of their glutamine capsules.
At the time of writing this review, each serving was priced at $0.14, which was half the price of MuscleTech Platinum and far less than most L-glutamine supplements. The only companies that came close were Bulk Supplements and Optimum Nutrition (1 k tub).
When you consider 99% of all glutamine supplements contain purely L-glutamine, why pay more for supplements that have the same ingredient?
What results can you expect?
As a non-essential amino acid, glutamine is taken to reduce muscle catabolism post-workout, boost your immune system, and promote a healthy digestive system. Improvements in muscle recovery have also been experienced when taken post-workout.
Because the powder is flavorless, it doesn’t impact the flavor of your protein shakes, fruit juice, creatine, or favorite beverage.
Although Nutricost also sell a BCAA powder, it doesn’t contain L-glutamine. Some BCAA powders combine the two, such as Scivation Xtend, which can prove more cost effective than buying the two separately.

Save money with Amazon
If you’re looking to save money on your monthly supplement order, you might want to consider the Amazon Subscribe & Save program.
Subscribe & Save allows you to unlock savings of up to 15% on a wide range of sports nutrition products, including Nutricost L-Glutamine Powder.
You can save 5% with a subscription to 1 product, or save the full 15% by subscribing to 5 products, provided they’re all delivered to the same address. The delivery schedule can be set from monthly, up to once every 6 months.
Although 5 products might sound a lot, if you already supplement with a protein powder, multivitamin, creatine, BCAA, and glutamine, the savings can soon add up. Review Overview
Overall Review Rating
4.5 / 5
In summary, we were impressed by the range of tub sizes (250 g to 1 kg), and the fact that Nutricost Glutamine is available in both powder and capsule form.
If you’re thinking about buying from Amazon, pay close attention to the cost per serving. When we wrote this review they listed a 3-pack of the 500 g tub as the best deal. When we did the math, this was priced at $0.18 per 5 g serving, whereas the 1 kg tub worked out at $0.13 per serving.
You can usually pick up 1 kg of Nutricost Glutamine for around the same price as Bulk Supplements. They’re both companies that specialize in single-ingredient supplements, but finding out the background of Nutricost is a little more difficult.
This is clearly a high quality glutamine supplement, suitable for anyone looking to boost their immune system, digestive health, and potentially muscle recovery. But it doesn’t carry the same brand reputation and cGMP certification as Bulk Supplements, which would still be our preference if we had to choose between the two.
