Kirkland Signature Mature Multi Adult 50+ Vitamins Supplement Review

Kirkland Signature Mature Multi provides your body with a daily dose of vitamins and minerals. This has been specially formulated for adults aged 50+, to support a healthy immune system, strong bones and teeth, eye health, and antioxidant activity.

But with 417% of your Vitamin B12 RDA per 1 tablet serving, how do you know if this is a safe dose? What if you’re already taking a protein powder with its own multivitamin complex?

In this review we compare Mature Multi to two other top multivitamins; Rainbow Light Active Adult 50+, and Centrum Silver (men’s and women’s). This includes ingredients, dosages, cost per serving, price, and customer feedback from the thousands of reviews on Amazon.

We’ve also added recommendations for the best protein powder to combine with Mature Multi. This is to help maintain a healthy balance between your vitamin, mineral, Omega-3, probiotic, and protein intake.

Kirkland Signature Mature Multi Ingredients

Mature Multi is a specially formulated multivitamin that provides you with a large amount of calcium (220 mg). This is more than you’ll find in almost every multivitamin on the market, including Rainbow Light Men’s One (50 mg) and the bestselling Dr. Tobias Multivitamin (175 mg).

In addition to a high dose of calcium, Mature Multi includes 110 mg of phosphorus per serving, which promotes healthy bones, skin and hair, and supports brain health. Very few adult multivitamins contain phosphorus at this level. For comparison, the Dr. Tobias supplement only contains 72 mg per serving.

Most other major vitamins have been added at levels that meet or exceed 100% of your DV. This includes 90 mg of vitamin C (150%) and 500 IU of vitamin D3 (125% DV). But this is much lower than you’ll find in standard multivitamins, as Mature Multi very much has a focus on the bone and teeth health for adults over 50 years of age.

A better all-round option would be the Centrum Adults Multivitamin.

Centrum Adults has slightly less calcium per serving (200 mg), and far less phosphorus (20 mg), but an additional 1000 IU of vitamin A and 500 IU more vitamin D. The only downside to Centrum Adults is that it doesn’t provide you with much energy, containing just 2 mg of vitamin B6 and 6 mcg of vitamin B12 per serving.

If you’re looking for a high level of calcium (237 mg), vitamin A (15000 IU), vitamin C (1000 IU) and vitamin D (1000 IU), in addition to high energy levels (50 mcg of vitamin B6 and 200 mcg of vitamin B12), Nature’s Way Alive Max Daily is a better option than Kirkland Signature Mature Multi. Just be prepared to pay up to 500% more per serving ($0.38 vs. $0.07 at time of writing).

What Sizes Are Available?

With a serving size of 1 tablet and a recommended dose of 1 serving per day, each bottle provides you with enough multivitamin support for 400 days. Multi-pack options are available on Amazon where you can buy multiple 400 count bottles together.

However, at the time of writing this review, the best value for money comes from buying the single bottle of 400 tablets, not the multi-packs. Each serving was priced at $0.04, compared to $0.07 for the multi-packs. This is why we always recommend calculating the average cost per serving, across all sizes, before making a final buying decision.

Mature Multi Review Summary

9
Kirkland Signature Mature Multi Adult 50+ Vitamins Supplement Review (Bottom)

So, is Kirkland Signature Mature Multi the best multivitamin for adults?

One advantage is that, at time of writing this review, Mature Multi was one of the cheapest multivitamins on the market. Even for the smallest 400-count bottle, you were only paying $0.04 per serving, compared to $0.76 for the Dr Tobias Vitality multivitamin.

But levels of biotin and vitamins A, C and D are among the lowest we've seen from a multivitamin.

Folic acid and calcium are high, which helps with bone strength and cognitive function. Very few multivitamins also contain phosphorus (Dr Tobias Vitality does, but 72 mg vs. 110 mg). This can help support healthy bone bone and brain health.

Overall, Mature Multi clearly isn't a high-potency formula, like Optimum Nutrition Opti-Men or Dr Tobias Vitality. But it does have high levels of vitamins and minerals that play an important role in the health of adults over the age of 50.

Considering the low cost, we consider Mature Multi excellent value for money. Alternatively, if you're looking for a multivitamin supplement with higher levels of vitamins and minerals and price isn't a factor, Dr Tobias Vitality is recommended if you still need the phosphorus, or Opti-Men/Opti-Women from Optimum Nutrition if you don't.
