Isopure Whey Protein Isolate provides you with 25 g of protein, 0 g of carbohydrates, 0 g of fat, and 100 calories per serving, together with trace amounts of cholesterol (10 mg), sodium (260 mg), and calcium (4% of RDA).
With no fat, carbohydrate, sugars or lactose, artificial flavors or artificial sweeteners, it sounds like the perfect nighttime protein shake. But considering this is whey – a fast digesting protein – and not casein or a multi-phase time release blend, like MusclePharm Combat, who is it designed for, and why is it proving so popular?
In this review we’ll compare Isopure Whey to two other top rated whey protein supplements; BSN SYNTHA-6, and Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey, to help you decide which is best for your own fitness and nutrition goals. This includes the ingredients, dosages, price, flavors, and customer feedback.
We’ve also added supplement stack recommendations for the best way to combine Isopure with branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), Creatine, Glutamine, and a pre-workout, to maximize your performance in the gym.
Isopure Whey Protein Isolate Ingredients
Isopure Whey Protein Isolate offers one of the cleanest macronutrient profiles on the market, with 25 g of protein per serving. There’s no carbs and zero fat, giving you complete control over how you increase your protein intake.
Because it’s 100% whey isolate, the cholesterol level is also incredibly low, with just 10 mg (3% DV) per scoop. That’s compared to 125 mg for Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey, which combines whey isolate with whey concentrate.
As for the micronutrient profile (vitamins and minerals), sodium content is a little high for a whey isolate powder. With 260 mg (11% DV) per serving, it’s more than Dymatize ISO 100 Whey Isolate (160 mg), Now Sports Whey Isolate (45 mg), and EAS Myoplex Whey Isolate (140 mg).
Aside from sodium, calcium is the only other mineral listed on the ingredient label. If you’re looking for more vitamins and antioxidants from your protein powder, we suggest Isopure Zero Carb.
Like Isopure Whey Protein Isolate, Zero Carb provides you with 25 g of protein per scoop, with no carbs or fat. The sodium content is lower (160 mg), as is the cholesterol level (2.5 mg), but you also benefit from a blend of more than 20 vitamins and minerals.
One final ingredient worth mentioning is soy lecithins. This is something that’s added to most protein powders, whether they use hydrolyzed whey, whey concentrate, whey isolate, or a combination, to improve mixability.

Review Overview
Overall Review Rating
4.5 / 5
At the time of writing this review, each 29 gram serving of Isopure Whey Isolate was priced at $0.82, based on buying a 3-pound tub. That’s slightly cheaper than Isopure Zero Carb, but that’s because you’re missing the vitamin and mineral complex.
That’s only a few cents more per serving than Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey ($0.78 per serving), but with more protein, less carbs, less fat, and lower calories.
We were impressed by the range of flavors and tub sizes available, in addition to the thousands of positive reviews and customer feedback on Amazon.
Knowing that you’re buying from one of the biggest names in sports nutrition drinks also gives you great peace of mind, and their website is packed with ideas for how you can use Isopure Whey Isolate as part of everyday recipes.
If you’re looking for a high quality whey isolate protein powder, and aren’t already taking a multivitamin, Isopure Whey Protein Isolate is your best option. If you’re not taking a multivitamin, we recommend Isopure Zero Carb.
