The TMAS Pro Leg Stretcher is one of the most popular stretching machines on the market, designed to safely improve splits and flexibility.
With a sturdy frame and incremental steering wheel control, the Pro Leg Stretcher is incredibly easy to use. It also arrives mostly pre-assembled for added convenience.
In our review we’ll see how it compares to other top leg stretching machines, such as the CA-27 from Valor Fitness. This is to guarantee your home stretch workouts are both comfortable and effective, with excellent value for money.
Design features
The TMAS Pro Leg Stretcher is designed around a durable steel frame, with a weight capacity of 235 lbs.
A steering wheel mechanism with incremental gear system allows you to adjust the degree of stretch safely, without the need for high-tension cables. It also provides a smooth operation during your stretch workout, with no resistance or sudden jerks.
By slowly increasing the angle of the stretch, you’re able to improve flexibility in your hips and hamstrings. This can be increased to over 180 degrees, making the TMAS Pro an effective splits machine.
Unfortunately, there’s no handle to hold once you reach your desired stretch position, as there is on the Century Versaflex. But you do have a stop latch that helps you reach your optimum stretch safely, and the steering wheel control remains in easy reach.
In addition to the padded leg rests, the TMAS Pro Leg Stretcher also features an adjustable padded seat and backrest. This enables you to switch between upright and reclined seated positions, which can impact the intensity of the stretch.
There’s enough cushioning for you to stretch in comfort, and many customers have seen an increase in their range of movement with just a few minutes of stretching each day.
However, TMAS have given clear instruction that their Pro Leg Stretcher shouldn’t be used on rugs or carpets. This is due to the roller wheels under the leg supports requiring a smooth surface to move on.
But whether it’s for athletic performance, martial arts, ballet, or improved mobility, the TMAS Pro remains one of the best leg stretch machines for home gyms.

Ease of assembly
When you buy a new piece of fitness equipment, it’s important to consider the assembly involved. With larger machines, like elliptical trainers and home gyms, it can take hours to get setup, either because the instructions are poor quality, or due to the complexity.
In fact, many companies even have their own professional assembly services, just so you don’t have to go through this process yourself.
Fortunately, the TMAS Pro Leg Stretcher is incredibly easy to assemble. Most of the work has already been done in the factory. All that remains is to attach the steering wheel, then you’re ready to enjoy your first stretching workout.
Exercise options
As a seated leg stretch/splits machine, the Pro Leg Stretcher by TMAS has fewer exercise options for unaided stretch work, compared to full body stretch trainers. But you can still increase your flexibility through incremental, controlled lengthening of the muscle fibers.
Even with a shallow range of motion, you can enjoy an effective leg stretch workout for your hamstrings, hips, and adductors (inner thigh muscles).
Greater flexibility in these muscle groups can lead to an improvement in athletic performance. This includes faster running times, a deeper range of motion in the barbell squat, and better split flexibility for martial arts, such as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
If you would like to stretch your quadriceps, gastrocnemius (upper calf muscle), soleus (lower calf muscle), and even tibialis anterior (shin muscle), we recommend buying a leg stretch machine with a standing calf stretch platform. The NitroFit Limber Pro is an excellent example.
What do the TMAS Leg Stretcher reviews say?
The TMAS Pro Leg Stretcher is one of the top-rated leg stretch machines on the market, with more 5-star Amazon reviews than the Century Versaflex at time of writing. It’s also cheaper than buying a full body stretching machine.
So is this the best machine for you? To find out, it’s worth looking at what other customers have said about their experience.
But we all know reading dozens of reviews can be time-consuming. That’s why we aggregated the pros and cons from TMAS Pro reviews on Amazon, then created the lists below.
Pros:
- Sturdy frame design
- Arrives mostly pre-assembled, except for the wheel control
- Comfortable padding
- Easy to use
- Light enough to transport between rooms if needed
- Reclining seat makes it easier to get on and off the machine
- Leg supports are well-suited to taller users (6’3″ in review)
- Improved flexibility in the thighs and hamstrings for martial arts
Cons:
- No warranty
- Some customers found the back rest unstable under more than 200 lbs of weight. A reinforced locking pin would have been more secure.
- No instructions on how to use the machine. Full body stretch machines, like the Precor 240i, come with a placard of recommended stretch exercises
- Doesn’t always have the image of a fist on the back support
TMAS Pro Leg Stretcher Review Summary
Overall Review Rating
4 / 5
The TMAS Pro Leg Stretcher is an excellent piece of equipment for stretching at home, with greater control over the stretch angle compared to the Century Versaflex. This is due to the steering wheel system being used in place of a ratchet handle.
However, reports of the back support weakening under pressure and no visible warranty coverage are both worth bearing in mind. In fact, the Versaflex may be a better option if you want to track your stretch progress, as it's one of the few stretching machines with a degree indicator.
That being said, the TMAS Pro remains one of the most popular pieces of stretching equipment for home gyms. It's also incredibly versatile, with a stretch range that extends beyond 180 degrees for full leg splits training.
But even if you don't need to improve your splits, with a daily stretching exercise plan, you can quickly develop increased flexibility in your legs and hips. This brings its own health benefits, such as improved joint mobility, athletic performance, and blood circulation.
