The Valor Fitness CA-27 Leg Stretch Machine is designed to improve flexibility and mobility in the legs and hips through stretching.
An easy-to-use steering wheel control enables you to stretch your legs beyond 180 degrees, in small, safe increments. This degree of stretch is often desirable for someone training in martial arts or competitive sports.
In our review we’ll compare the Valor Fitness CA-27 leg stretcher to other highly rated splits machines. This includes the design features, warranty, customer feedback, and where to find the lowest price.
Design Features
If you want to improve flexibility in your legs and hips, whether for competitive sports or health reasons, the Valor Fitness CA-27 remains one of the best leg stretch machines on the market.
Its design is very similar to the TMAS Pro Leg Stretcher, with a steering wheel and gear system to adjust the degree of stretch. This is possible in very small, gradual increments, with a smooth and continuous movement, not jerky and abrupt as you may find with a crank lever.
But the sturdy steel frame has a higher weight capacity than the TMAS machine, with a limit of 250 lbs vs. 235 lbs. This doesn’t affect the range of motion though. You’re still able to stretch beyond 180 degrees, making the CA-27 an effective splits machine.
Comfort and Support
The CA-27 allows you to adjust the distance between the seat and leg supports, which is a feature that’s missing from most other leg stretch machines. There are two positions to choose from: one to cater for long legs, and the other to cater for shorter users.
It’s also important to remain comfortable while stretching, which is why cushioning has been built into the seat and adjustable back support. You even have padding along the full length of the leg rollers and adjustable leg supports, to help eliminate pressure points.
The only downside is that there’s no way to measure how much you’ve improved the flexibility in your legs. There’s no scale or guide to indicate the degree of stretch, which means there’s no easy way to track your progress.
If you would like to buy a leg stretch machine with a degree indicator to chart stretching progress, we recommend the Century Versaflex.

Ease of Assembly
The Valor Fitness CA-27 leg stretch machine is easy to assemble, with a compact footprint, removable leg supports, and fold-flat back support. This makes storage and transport much easier when not in use.
Although the assembly isn’t as easy as the TMAS Pro Leg Stretcher, it’s a little simpler than the Century Versaflex.
When you’re ready to begin your next stretch workout, you can simply adjust the back support, sit on the seat, and slide the steering wheel control into position.
Here’s a quick demonstration video showing how to get the most out of the Valor Fitness CA-27 leg stretcher:
Exercise Options
As a seated leg stretcher/splits machine, the Valor Fitness CA-27 has fewer exercise options for unaided stretch work, compared to full body stretch trainers. But you can still increase your flexibility through incremental, controlled lengthening of the muscle fibers.
Even with a shallow range of motion, you can enjoy an effective leg stretch workout for your hamstrings, hips, and adductors (inner thigh muscles). When you become more flexible, you can increase the stretch angle closer to the full 180 degree splits position.
Greater flexibility in these muscle groups can lead to an improvement in athletic performance. This includes faster running times, a deeper range of motion in the barbell squat, and better split flexibility for martial arts, such as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
If you would like to stretch your quadriceps, gastrocnemius (upper calf muscle), soleus (lower calf muscle), and even tibialis anterior (shin muscle), we recommend buying a full body stretch machine with a standing calf stretch platform. The NitroFit Limber Pro is an excellent example.
Warranty
- 3 year frame
- 2 years pads

What Do the Valor Fitness CA-27 Reviews Say?
The Valor Fitness CA-27 is one of the top rated leg stretch machines on the market. It’s also one of the cheapest, which means you can often buy the CA-27 and the bestselling Innova ITX9600 Inversion Table for less than $300 combined.
But, before deciding if this is the best machine for you, it’s worth looking at what other customers have said about their experience.
Reading through dozens of reviews can be time-consuming. That’s why we aggregated the pros and cons from Valor Fitness CA-27 reviews on Amazon, then created the lists below.
Pros:
- Well-built and easy to setup
- Arrives semi-assembled to save you time
- Has a wide range of motion, to double as a splits machine
- Adjustable leg supports cater for a range of user heights
- Comfortable seat
- Helped with flexibility for Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Tae Kwon Do, and other martial arts
- Doesn’t take up much space, thanks to the small footprint
- Easy to control the stretch intensity
Cons:
- No way to measure the degree of stretch
- Some customers found it difficult to use after a few months, with sticking gears. Customers that lubricated the gears and jack screws didn’t appear to have this problem.
- No separate handle at the front to pull yourself forward for deeper stretches
Valor Fitness CA-27 Review Summary
Overall Review Rating
4 / 5
It's easy to see why the Valor Fitness CA-27 machine is such a popular and effective leg stretcher. The steering wheel gear system allows you to perform smooth, controlled stretches better than a ratchet handle system.
Adjustable leg supports provide added comfort for a variety of user heights, while the warranty is one of the best we've seen. In comparison, the Century Versaflex has just 1 year limited warranty, with 90 days coverage on the upholstery.
The only downside is that you can't measure improvements in your stretching ability due to the lack of degree indicator. This is a feature that's built into the Versaflex.
Even fully assembled, the CA-27 leg stretcher doesn't take up much space. But within seconds you can detach the steering wheel and leg pads, then lower the back support to reduce the height. This makes it a convenient option for anyone with a compact home gym.
