The XMark Fitness 11-Gauge FID bench has been designed with a maximum weight capacity of 1,500 lbs., in addition to 7 back support positions. These range from decline through to upright, with a variety of incline settings in between.
But is the XM-7472 the best weight bench for your own home gym?
To help you decide, our review takes considers the design, exercise options, and customer feedback. We’ve also added comparisons to similarly priced benches.
Design features
When considering buying a new workout bench, the amount of weight it can support is usually a crucial factor in deciding which one will represent best value for money.
As their entry to the commercial FID market, the XMark Fitness 11-gauge FID bench is among the strongest available, being designed with a 1,500 lb weight capacity.
Although this doesn’t necessarily mean that you will require anywhere close to that limit, it’s a clear indication of the quality and stability that has been built into this bench.
Being a FID design, this also means that the weight limit is supported through its full range of positions, from decline all the way through to vertical.
To match this range of back support positions, the angle of the seat is also adjustable, which helps to keep you well supported when performing heavier pressing type exercises.
Aside from all of the upper body exercises that are available, it can also be important to look for a bench with a leg developer, to help train your quads and hamstrings.
While the XMark Fitness 11-Gauge bench doesn’t provide a leg developer attachment with the bench on its own, this can always be purchased separately and attached at a later date if required.
To help provide some additional support with its high weight limit, both the seat and back support have been well padded and upholstered to keep you as comfortable as possible during your workout.

Product comparison
As well as finding out more about the features of the XMark Fitness 11-Gauge bench, it’s useful to know what other options are available in a similar price range.
Usually available for around $270, this puts the XMark bench in a particularly competitive price range, which also includes the Gold’s Gym XRS 20 and Bowflex SelectTech 5.1 benches.
The Ironmaster Super Bench is also at a very similar level in terms of price, so these would be the 3 that we also recommend taking a look at before making any final buying decision.
Although these are benches that are around the same level in terms of price, they each have their own distinguishing features that set them apart.
The Bowflex 5.1 is best known for its high build quality and range of positions, while the Gold’s Gym XRS 20 also provides a walk-in squat rack.
But if you are looking for a bench with more attachment options and a wider range of incline positions, it’s difficult to do better than the Ironmaster bench, with its 4 attachment options and a 1,000 lb weight limit.

Review Overview
Overall Review Rating
5 / 5
The XMark Fitness 11-Gauge FID Bench provides all the stability and comfort necessary to workout with the heaviest of weights, which helps to ensure this is a bench that will last for many years of strength training.
As well as this strength, the 7 different back pad angle adjustments from flat to full military press position increases the range of exercise options available, and means you don't have to buy a separate bench just to support any decline training.
On top of this strength and ergonomically designed seat and back support, the extra thick 3” Duracraft pad does an excellent job of keeping you comfortable and well supported during your workouts.
