Optimum Nutrition Opti-Women is a multivitamin that contains 40+ high potency ingredients, delivered via their Nutrient Optimization System. This is designed to help strengthen bones and joints, improve muscle function, and support a healthy metabolism.

But with 1,667% of your Vitamin B12 RDA and 1,500% of your Vitamin B6 RDA in each 2-capsule serving, how do you know if this is a safe dose? What if you’re already supplementing with multivitamins due to your choice in protein powder?

In this review we compare O.N. Opti-Women to two of the best multivitamins for women; Vitafusion Women’s, and Rainbow Light Women’s One. Comparisons include the ingredients, dosages, cost per serving, price, and customer feedback from the thousands of reviews on Amazon.

We’ve also added recommendations for the best protein powder to combine with Opti-Women. This is so you can maintain a healthy balance between your vitamin, mineral, Omega-3, probiotic, and protein intake.

Optimum Nutrition Opti-Women Ingredients

Optimum Nutrition Opti-Women Ingredients

Opti-Women is a multivitamin with a unique combination of ingredients, tailored specifically for women, in a similar way that Opti-Men has been tailored to support men’s health.

Levels of key vitamins and minerals are generally lower than in Opti-Men, with a couple of exceptions. Opti-Women is the only multivitamin of the two that contains iron (18 mg). You’re also getting a much higher dose of calcium (150 mg vs. 50 mg). But you’re getting half the dose of vitamin A (5,000 IU vs. 10,000 IU) and just a quarter of the vitamin C (250 IU vs. 1,000 IU), compared to Opti-Men.

Despite having a lower level of vitamin A, you’re still getting 100% of your Daily Value (DV). The lower level in the Opti-Women version could be attributed to research that states doses less than 10,000 IU per day are generally considered safe and beneficial to pregnant women, but higher doses, between 10,000 IU and 30,000 IU are not recommended.

In total, each 2-capsule serving contains 100% or more of your DV for 17 vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, D, E, K, B6, B12, and iron.

In addition to the vitamins and minerals, Optimum Nutrition Opti-Women also contains 17 specialty ingredients, including Soy Isoflavones, Chasteberry Extract, Dong Quai and Uva Ursi.

What sizes are available?

With a serving size of 2 capsules, each bottle provides you with either 30 or 60 servings.

At the time of writing this review, the best value for money comes from the larger bottle containing 120 capsules. Each serving was priced at $0.26, compared to $0.43 per serving with the smaller bottle. That’s why we always recommend calculating the average cost per serving, across all sizes, before making a final buying decision.

Save money with Amazon

If you’re looking to save money on your monthly supplement order, you might want to consider the Amazon Subscribe & Save program.

Subscribe & Save allows you to unlock savings of up to 15% on a wide range of sports nutrition products, including Optimum Nutrition Opti-Women.

You can save 5% with a subscription to 1 product, or save the full 15% by subscribing to 5 products, provided they’re all delivered to the same address. The delivery schedule can be set from monthly, up to once every 6 months.

Although 5 products might sound a lot, if you already supplement with a protein powder, multivitamin, creatine, BCAA, and glutamine, the savings can soon add up. But it’s best to order before you run out of your current supplements, because Amazon set the day of the month each order is sent (same day each month e.g. 14th.).

Opti-Women Review Summary

Overall Review Rating

4.5 / 5

So, is Optimum Nutrition Opti-Women the best multivitamin for women?

The level of vitamin A is high enough to meet 100% of your Daily Value (DV), but without being so high that it's advised against if you're pregnant (10,000 IU+). Containing 100% of your DV for iron is also an advantage over similar multivitamins that don't contain the mineral, such as Vitafusion Women's Gummies.

Having a higher than average level of the vitamin E antioxidant (100 IU) can help reduce free radical damage and slow the aging process of your cells, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The level of folic acid found in each serving (600 mcg) is also higher than most multivitamin supplements. This is crucial for red blood cell formation, and helps prevent a deficiency which could cause anemia in both adults and children.

In terms of value for money, the larger bottle (120-count) is much cheaper per serving ($0.26) compared to the smaller 60-count bottle ($0.43 per serving).

Overall, Opti-Women offers excellent value for money, if you purchase the larger bottle at close to $0.26 per serving. Even compared to Centrum, Nature Made, and Dr. Tobias, you'll struggle to find the same high levels of key vitamins and minerals for such an affordable price.
