But what exactly is a vibration trainer, and what makes the Confidence Fitness design so popular?
In this review we aim to answer both of these questions, together with taking a quick look at the customer reviews, design features, and even the quality of the assembly instructions.
How does it work?
The Confidence Slim Vibration Platform is designed to provide a compact, vibrating plate platform on which to perform simple, weight-bearing exercises.
These can be anything from press-ups and sit-ups, to muscle stretching positions and lunges.
There are various benefits to using a vibration trainer, including improvements in co-ordination and flexibility, as well as muscle toning and for boosting circulation.
Although there are a variety of vibration settings to choose from (50 in total), each essentially works in the same way.

This lets you switch between the following 4 training modes:

Each program lasts 10 minutes, with the automatic programs adjusting the vibration speed every 30 seconds without you needing to change position.
Whereas P1 acts as more of a pyramid style workout (gradually increasing until midway through the 10 minutes, then decreasing again), P2 is designed more for keeping your heart rate in the target fat burning zone.
The change in vibration speed for P2 acts as more of a continuous hill climb, and is generally better suited to an intermediate level of fitness and experience with vibration trainers.
The most advanced training program is P3. This quickly increases the vibration speed from 15 up to 45 (50 being the maximum speed setting), before remaining at that speed until the 10 minute duration is complete.
At any point during each program, you can view your current workout time, plate vibration speed, and heart rate on the LCD display screen.

Due to the size of the vibration plate and the design of the display console tower and hand rails, the Confidence Slim Vibration Platform is able to support a wide range of upper and lower body toning exercises.
Unlike your standard multi gym or free weights, because of how specific these exercises are to vibration plate training, they don’t actually have names assigned.
Instead, it’s best if you can find an online resource that provides a variety of images to clearly show the required body position to work each muscle.
Alternatively, the user manual provided with this vibration trainer does include a number of diagrams which show the best exercises to perform, specifically for this machine.
Although there aren’t strictly workout programs that follow a traditional format of sets and repetitions, there are still some useful guidelines for putting together an effective full body training plan.
Beginners – Start with a low setting for a series of 1 minute sessions per muscle group for 2 to 3 workouts per week.
Intermediate – Start to increase the intensity and duration of each exercise. You can also start to cycle your sessions, which is developing more towards the traditional workout model of having multiple sets.
This is essentially where you complete one round of exercises for each muscle group, rest for a short period (3 to 5 minutes) then repeat the exercises again with the same intensity and duration.
Advanced – Following the same style of increase as the switch from beginner to intermediate, you can again increase the intensity and duration of each exercise.
But there are some basic guidelines for more advanced users of the Confidence Slim Vibration Platform, as with any vibration trainer.
- Short breaks should always be taken between full body cycles
- No more than 5 minutes should be spent on any one muscle group or posture
- Always perform stretching exercises both before and after your vibration trainer workout
Ease of assembly
Unlike larger items of fitness equipment, such as treadmills and elliptical trainers, the Confidence Slim Vibration Platform actually requires very little in the way of assembly.
The owner’s manual is well written in clear English, and provides everything you need to get the machine setup quickly.
This includes a full parts list, exploded diagrams with part references, and a series of instructions to assist with each step.
There’s also something that we haven’t seen before in an instruction manual, which is an image of what the vibration trainer should look like at the end of each step.
After attaching the back support tube and hand rails, you’re only left with attaching the display console, which is really the only slightly tricky part.
Once the wires are all connected to join the console to the heart rate hand sensors and base plate, you’re all ready to start enjoying your first workout.
From unpacking the parts to having the vibration trainer setup and ready to use shouldn’t take much more than 30 minutes.
How much maintenance is required?
While assembling the machine will most likely be something you only need to do once, as with any piece of home fitness equipment, a small amount of maintenance is necessary to extend the life of the vibration plate.
The maintenance for the Confidence Slim Vibration Platform is really nothing out of the ordinary, and only suggests that you unplug the machine between workouts, and check the tightness of the assembly screws every couple of months.
The user manual provided also includes a useful section dedicated to resolving any troubleshooting issues you might have, such as levelling the machine.
Despite their compact design, it’s not unusual to find vibration plate trainers costing upwards of $4000.
