Musclepharm Creatine Powder provides 5 g of pure creatine monohydrate per serving, with no pre-workout stimulants, such as caffeine or green tea extract.
But can it it promote an increase in strength and lean muscle mass in the same way as BPI Sports, which uses a blend of different creatine types for each serving? (creatine monohydrate, creatine AKG, creatine phosphate, and more)
In this review we’ll compare MusclePharm Creatine to a number of other top rated creatine supplements – including powders and capsules. Advice will be provided on dosages, health benefits, loading phases, and price, to help you find the best creatine for your fitness goals and budget.
We’ve also added recommendations for the best way to use MusclePharm Creatine as part of a supplement stack, whether you’re training for bodybuilding, powerlifting, CrossFit, or overall fitness.
Musclepharm Creatine Powder ingredients
MusclePharm Creatine delivers 5 g of creatine monohydrate per serving, designed to increase your strength and lean muscle mass. But does it really work?
One study published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition believes so.
It concludes that the most efficient loading phase is 20 intakes of 1 g every 30 minutes. This is followed by a maintenance phase dose of 3-5g of creatine monohydrate per day.
Although the MusclePharm Creatine doesn’t list recommendations for a loading phase on the label, it’s something you should consider. Loading with a high quality creatine supplement ensures maximum saturation of the intramuscular creatine store.
A separate study of 22 existing studies found the average strength increase following creatine supplementation and resistance training was 8% greater than muscle strength increase in a placebo group. Average number of reps performed (endurance) was also 14% greater in the creatine group compared to placebo.
Good value for money?
At the time of writing this review, each serving was priced at $0.18, which was still cheaper than BSN, Beast Sports Nutrition, and BPI Sports.
Suitable for vegetarians?
Fortunately MusclePharm Creatine is delivered in pure powder form, rather than capsules. Most creatine capsules use gelatin in the manufacturing process, which is derived from animal products.
However, although it’s suitable for vegetarians and vegans, the label does carry an allergen warning. That’s because the powder is produced in a facility that also processes ingredients containing milk, egg, soybeans, shellfish, tree nuts, wheat, and peanuts.

What size is the best value?
With a serving size of grams, each tub provides you with enough creatine powder for 60 servings. Following a recommended dose of 5 grams pre and post-workout, this is enough for a 1 month supply.
At the time of writing this review, each serving was priced at $0.18. This is mid-range for a pure creatine monohydrate supplement, but if you’re looking for a cheaper option, it’s best to buy in bulk.
Dymatize creatine has a 1kg tub that works out closer to $0.09 per serving, while Bulk Supplements has a 25kg tub priced at $0.04 per serving, both of which supply you with 5g of monohydrate. That’s why we always recommend calculating the average cost per serving, across all sizes, before making a final buying decision.
