If you are thinking about buying a new home gym but not sure if you have the space, the Powerline P1X has a much smaller footprint than most home gym systems.
You also have the option to choose from a range of optional upgrades to extend the number of exercise stations as well as the total weight in the weight stack.
In our review we’ll walk you through the design features, exercise options, and optional upgrades, to help you decide if the P1X is the best choice of gym equipment for your own home workouts.
Design features

One of the main goals behind the design of most home gyms is to provide the widest range of effective exercise options in the smallest space possible.
While many home gyms have managed this to some degree, the Powerline P1x includes a number of clever design features that really set it apart from similar systems.
The main pressing arm will arguably provide the biggest benefit to your workouts compared to other home gyms, due to its wide range of starting positions.
By simply releasing the locking pin and moving the arm through to a different setting you can switch from a chest press to a seated row in seconds.
Having a range of adjustable features is really what makes the Powerline P1x so well suited to a variety of different heights and body types.
As well as being able to adjust the pressing arm’s angle of movement, you can also adjust the height of the seat, and even how far the padded back support extends from the frame.
When switching between exercises such as the chest press and seated rows, it’s important to be able to adjust your grip position to perform the exercise effectively.
Fortunately you have a choice of 3 different sets of handles, allowing you to switch between various grip positions and work the target muscle group more efficiently.

The Powerline P1x features 3 separate cable pulleys; high, mid-range, and low.
These are an excellent way to get the most exercise options from a limited space, while still relying on a single weight plate stack.

High cable pulley – Although mainly used for lat pulldown variations, the high pulley also allows you to perform a wide range of pressdown exercises for your triceps.
From overhead extensions to pushdowns, you can put together an effective triceps workout using the exercise stations of the Powerline P1x.
Mid range pulley – From a seated position and facing away from the machine, the mid-range pulley is excellent for performing a range of abdominal and oblique exercises.
These are particularly effective when using an ab harness attachment.
Low cable pulley – The low pulley is ideal for performing exercises using a standard cable attachment while standing, as well as creating the resistance for the integrated leg developer.
Although the leg developer doesn’t offer the same lying hamstring curls as some weights benches, you can still perform leg extensions easily, and single leg standing leg curls if you want to isolate your hamstrings.
Using a simple ankle attachment with the low pulley will also make it possible to perform exercises such as leg raises and

The Powerline P1X is equipped with ergonomically correct press arms, a fully adjustable leg extension/leg curl, and mid row handles for a top-to-bottom workout that will improve your strength, flexibility, and balance.
Aside from the extra exercises, a great advantage of the pressing arms having a range of angle settings is that you can create more room to perform the different variations of lat pulldowns and tricep pushdowns.
Unlike most home gyms, the P1X can be equipped with an optional leg press station that can be mounted on either side of the gym (sold separately) for greater versatility. There is also a 50 lb weight stack upgrade available if you want to increase the weight to 210 lbs from the standard 160 lbs.
Included cable attachments offer the versatility to perform lat pull downs, triceps press downs, biceps curls, resistance abdominal crunches, and many more.
